what's left to say? look at the setlist, listen to the audio and you'll know. this is the best version of Sugaree i've ever heard played by ANYBODY, and the second set is the single best set of Dead music i've heard played since Jerry died. being there was magical, so many stories... we are forever indebted to the tapers for documenting amazing moments like this. this version happens to be the best-sounding, but all are appreciated. cheers!

Subject: WOW!!!
I cannot get enough of this show!!! Nothing short of stellar. When Jackie started with China Cat (which I love) and he started singing I don't know if there was something wrong with his mic but it just started out really weak. I was upset at the moment. I had never heard Jackie before and was not impressed for a second. But after that he just threw down like I never expected. Sugaree is a fave and the evergy there is just unbelievable. Grate line up with Phil. Jackie is friggin awsome and I love that he has Steve playin with him. Saw them at All Good in WV and they played Elevator a Partical song. I think it's a grate mix with steve in there and it's pretty cool to see Phil throw down and mix it up with a different genre. DL this show!!!!

Subject: Excellent Recording, Good Show
Maybe It's because the first show I saw from P+F was with Warren (and Scofield) but i feel as if he could have stuck around for the whole first set, call me a complainer, but i love my Warren over my Jackie Green.

Good Grateful Dead set (not jackie song set) Sunshine, Althea opener greatly appreciated. Could have done without Fire on the Mountain or New Speedway... I feel like he plays these songs every other show or something... But Phil is in his pop-dead phase instead of busting out the rarities, o-well, great show n e wayz with some amazing Larry Campbell Jackie Green interplay and high energy all around. Phil is a madman as usual and is all over the place.

I find it interesting that nobody has commented on the unusually excellent quality of this AUD. Low audience hissing and noise, equal vocal and instrumental, little to no bass distortion, this sounds like it could be used as a SBD. Thanks Jim for this truly professional sounding AUD. Worth the download for the quality alone, but also for a worthy setlist and good energy.

This show was the highlight of rothbury for me, and I'm not even familiar with the music.

I absolutely loved the end of the first set.

Great recording too!

Dirty show! Amazing Althea that blew my brains away. I was 3 people from the front center and just PERMA-GRINNED the entire show! THANKS PHIL!!!!!!

Notes

At some point late in the second set, the mic stand had to be lowered to attach an umbrella. Though I can't pinpoint the time now, you might notice the noise of that movement.
